For over thirty years the Falcon Law Firm has represented clients injured or killed in accidents. What we've learned in that time is that every case is different. However, there are many common questions you should ask when searching for representation. Cost can vary dramatically depending on the complexity of the matter. In simple cases costs are only a few thousand dollars. However, more complex cases can cost tens or even hundreds of thousands of dollars. The Falcon Law Firm advances all costs in your case and we do no recoup them unless we obtain a recovery for you.
Attorney’s fees are the compensation for legal services performed by the attorneys and their staff.
Most of our cases are contingency fee based. This means that our fees are charged only if your lawsuit is successful or is settled out of court. If you don’t recover anything, then you don’t owe us anything.
There is no set time period. Typically, your case will not be settled or brought to trial until you have reached maximum medical improvement, or MMI. This determination is made by your doctor and not your attorney. The amount of time it takes to resolve your case will depend on the severity of your injuries and complexity of the litigation.
Each case is unique and must be valued individually. Factors that must be considered include the nature and severity of injuries; past, present, and future medical needs; lost wages; the nature of the harmful conduct; etc. After evaluating all of the necessary factors, the Falcon Law Firm will fight hard to get you what you deserve.
Compensatory damages are an amount paid to compensate you for your loss, injury, or harm suffered as a result of another’s harmful conduct.
Punitive damages are damages exceeding simple compensation that are awarded to deter the harmful conduct and punish the defendant.
Typically, you have one year from the accident or injury to file suit. In some cases, where the injury or harm goes unknown until many years later, you have one year from when you knew or should have known that an injury or harm occurred. Missing the deadline to file your lawsuit can cause you to lose your legal right to sue. It is important that you contact an attorney as soon as possible, so you can protect your rights.
